Jincheon is in the CheungCheong Province in the central part of the country about 60 miles south of Seoul. The city is famous for the cultivation of spectacular roses and for the production of koi.

Shortly after we linked with Jincheon in 2001, Keyong Hoe Kim, the Mayor of our new sister city, led a delegation to Vallejo. Mayor Intintoli welcomed the group at a luncheon honoring the association at Hiddenbrooke.

In 2002, a Vallejo delegation attended the World Tae Kwon Do Hwarang Festival with participants from 33 countries. To cement our relationship, Jincheon officials designated one of their streets as "Vallejo Avenue."

On December 5, 2011, Vallejo received two emissaries from Jincheon Sister City (Korea), namely: KWAN WOO, LEE, Chief/Director of International Relations, City of Jincheon and SEONG GOO, HWANG, Executive Director, 10th Anniversary Committee 2012. The purpose of the visit was to hand deliver a Congratulatory Letter from Mayor Yoo Young, Hun to Mayor Osby Davis and to plan the 10th Anniversary of our sister city relationship in 2012. It was a fruitful meeting.
